Teaching Experiences
- February 4th 2014: I will participate to the teaching on “Molecular mechanisms of T cell differentiation” delivered to LisbonBioMed master student Programme. This event will involve one foreign guest, Fiona Powrie together with several Portuguese group leaders.
- June 3 – 5 2013: I participated to Nanocourse “Challenges in Immunology” organised for the CAML PhD Programme. This event involved two foreign guests, Ron Germain from the NIH (USA) and Dan Pennington from Queen Mary University of London, together with several Portuguese group leaders. I gave a lecture on “Challenges in T cell differentiation”.
- October – December 2009: I have given 15 tutorials for Small Group Teaching (SGT) for Medical students in the first term of their second year (2nd year MBChB) covering Infection, Immunity and Haematology lectures
- April 1999 and April 2000: Teaching on laboratory courses (practicals) for bachelor degree in Immunology on ELISA test and Immuno-electrophoresis (Université de la Méditerranée)
Supervision Experiences
- September 2013 (12 months): Joana Martins M.Sc. student from FCUL 1st Biochemistry program, Portugal.
- April 2013 (3 months): Michael Hamm Master Student from Master Cellular and molecular biology M1 at University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) Université Paris 6, France.
- August 2012 (6 months): Ingrid Brok Master Student from Cell Biology and Immunology Group at the Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
- February 2007 (6 months): Julie Losbtein Master Student from Ecole Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg, France.
Volunteering and community contribution
- September 2014: Organizer of the annual meeting of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Imunologia that will occur at IMM, Lisbon, Portugal.
- December 2013: I was very lucky to be asked to participate to the VII CAML PhD Students Meeting as a member of the jury selecting the best oral presentation.
- October 2013: Organization of one-day workshop on “grant writing”. We had the great pleasure to welcome Dr. Judith Swan. Have a look at the advertised poster and abstract or Dr. Swan’s TEDx talk at Carnegie Mellon University in May 2013!
- September 2011 – September 2012: Organization of Immunology Meetings between two institutes located in Lisboa Instituto de Medicina Molecular (IMM) and Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC). These seminars are hosted one morning every 6 weeks with 3 talks per session.
